27Jun2025 - This is turning into a journal/journey-down-memory-lane thing. I'm looking through my old photo albums, and at the same time, other memories and thoughts are popping up in my mind. This is what old(er) people do, yes? 9May2025 - I decided to leave FB, and just share my photos etc here. Thank you to the special people who check in here...(7Dec2022 - crlazlo meanderings 2 is now 2.1 - I will continue to use it as a preview/workspace for my FB posts, but I will also start organizing the many photos from my retirement years, and also start a journal/memories thing. That's the plan anyway.)

When I go to a good car show, with lots of classics, I focus on the details. I love the lines, and the shapes, and the colors...

Car Shows #2 - Chevies have always been my favorites...

Busy busy. The last 3 days just flew by... Friday was the Grand Opening/Celebration of the upgraded Seattle Waterfront. The first photo is from one of the advertisements. Just imagine more people, lots of entertainment, good food, etc. It was a wonder with the widened space for walkers, tourists and locals alike. We like the Waterfront even more now. We got Fish'nChips at Ivars. Really good! I remember watching Ivar Haglund promote his restaurant on TV in the 50s. Sunday was the Edmonds Car Show. I think it was one of the last big car shows of the year, and I took over 250 photos! Yesterday, we made one of our long walk - bus - LRT trips: downtown Seattle to renew Inday's drivers license. Like me, she doesn't drive anymore, but it's a good secondary ID. The woman behind the counter is from an island in the Philippines next to Cebu Island. Small world. We stopped by the new Sue Bird statue at the Climate Pledge Arena on our way back to the Monorail. The Monorail accepts ORCA cards now. 5 more nights in this AirBnb, and then we move to another AirBnb closer to Andrea's place.

Walking from the Bellevue Transit Center to my hearing aid appointment yesterday morning, I thought about Cebu and walking by the doors of larger department and grocery stores. If the doors are open, the cool air of the ACs comes flowing out. It was the opposite for me yesterday - warm air came flowing out when I walked by the open entrance to a parking garage. It was 59° F outside (15° C). We definitely have to get some of our Winter clothes out of the locker! Ac

Yeah! I thought I missed all of the car shows, but this one is happening Sunday! Time to pull out my Canon. We're getting more and more proficient with our bus travels. I was able to get into a cancelled Hearing test yesterday morning in downtown Seattle, and a combination of walking, bussing and LRT-ing got me there with time to spare. And it looks like I'll have my hearing aid before our projected departure early next month. Most hearing tests etc are scheduled months ahead. My walk down to the bus that time in the morning was in the dark, and I was happy that the usb flashlight I got in Cebu was charged up :)

I took my first photos since arriving back in the US this morning. I used my iPhone and just clicked off shots with my mini blue-tooth shutter thing. We went on a 40 minute+ walk from our AirBnB down to the bottom of the hill, and back up. It's a nice AirBnb, but the 20-30 minute walks to bus stops, and the inclines when we return are a challenge. There's a nice little park, the "5 Acres Park" a short distance from our place, with even more ups and downs. We're getting a lot of exercise :) The street shot on our road was during morning commute time, so you can see it's definitely Not a "downtown" kind of place. There are a lot of gravel/dirt/blacktop roadways going back into the trees to houses, and a lot of green all along the main road. The last photo is the driveway leading up to our AirBnb at the top. We're moving to another place in two weeks, and our last month will have easier bus access and level walking. Yeah!
from a post 13 years ago, 2Sep2013: "Pumped! Getting ready for a bike ride with my brother, and it's a beautiful NW morning! Just now, when I was loading my bike onto the car, one of the local peacocks walked by. Usually, they run away when people are moving around, but maybe because I was busy with my bike, he just sauntered by me with his big blue colors, his head slowly bobbing back and forth... I'll try to get a photo one of these days." ps - not riding my bicycke nowadays, let alone driving a car (: the next day, 3Sep2013, I had a nice long walk downtown Seattle with Inday - we walked up to the LRT, rode downtown by train, walked to the Pike Place Market and down to the waterfront, walked to Chinatown along the waterfront, did some shopping at Uwajimaya, and back onto the LRT and our walk back home. A good day!!
