Thank you Mary's neighbor Donna for the knee brace recommendations! I walked just under 4 miles both Monday and Tuesday, brisk walks with no pain. Yesterday I walked the perimeter of the newly proposed NHL/NBA Arena here in Tukwila. I've been walking here for many years, but I keep finding places I haven't explored. This is the first time I have walked out by the Tukwila Train Station. I started out by the Sounders facility in Ft Dent, and walked around the Family Fun Center and under the the Grady Overpass to get to the proposed site. Looking at the Google Earth image in general, it's bordered by Hwy 181 on the left, Longacres Wy on the bottom, the train tracks along Longacres Dr SW on the right, and 405 on top. Longacres Way dead ends at the Station, which is very nice by the way, and my walk continued E/NE along some nice paths through a marshy area with a small lake. I ended up zigzag-in through an area with several Boeing buildings (they're Everywhere!) and back to Grady Way. From there, I walked back W over the bridge and back to Ft Dent and my car. Nice walk, and with all of the conveniences and amenities nearby, I was thinking what a super place for a new arena!
7Dec2022 - crlazlo meanderings 2 is now 2.1 - I will continue to use it as a preview/workspace for my FB posts, but I will also start organizing the many photos from my retirement years, and also start a journal/memories thing. That's the plan anyway.

This is an Osprey (Fish Hawk?) pair that nests across the Green River from BECU every year around this time. They will refurbish their nest. In a short while a baby chick will appear, peeking it's little head over the edge of the nest. Then comes the standing up and flapping of wings, over and over again, getting ready. And then one day all three are gone for another year...

I often go downtown early Sunday mornings to take photos of the buildings. I like the lines, the colors, the shadows, the reflections of other buildings in the windows... But I look where I'm walking also, and on one block in particular I saw all of the following things: a homeless person bundled up in a doorway with a black sleeping bag, a few doors down a Valet was opening the door of a hotel patron's taxi, looking back down the street the other direction there were no people moving and no traffic, two well dressed men with coffee cups in their hands were standing and talking by the front windows of the hotel lobby, two bicyclists rode by in the bicycle lane... I love the trees, buildings, and rivers I photograph, but I sometimes wish I was more bold, or I wish I was a ghost, and I could take more "people" pictures...

It's no wonder that I don't go bike riding that much in Winter. I'm in awe of my brother Pat. It was around 40 degrees when I rode this morning, and although it felt really good to get out there, my fingers felt like Popsicles (even with gloves!) and my ears hurt. Oh well. It was beautiful though. With the early morning sun, there was very little editing required with these photos...
