I love playing with the images of this kind of foliage: the long thin lines, the chartreuse greens that come through with the sunlight, and then converting them to black and white...

I heard the soft Thunk of my newspaper being dropped by the front door this morning while I was doing my meditation. It brought back a memory from Japan: the sound of my English version of the Japan Times being dropped through the metal mail flap of the door. The city where I was living had a regulation that allowed buildings with 5 floors or less have No elevators, so my newspaper delivery person walked up 5 flights of stairs every day. This has nothing to do with my photo today. I just like the colors...

When my eyesight is cooperating, editing photos is one of my favorite things to do. This shot is from a recent walk when I took some photos with my iPhone. There can be beauty in the chaos sometimes, and I found these stained glass window like images when I was playing with my editing program.

The first photo is from 3 years ago, on 16May2021. It was in my FB Memories folder this morning. I took the second photo a few days ago. It's probably the same tree because my walking routes here in Bothell don't change that much.

kaleidoscope river walk

Nice walk today, with blue skies and early morning sunshine filtering through the trees.

What I try to do when I'm on a photo walk is to capture what I'm "seeing" with my eyes. This walk was early in the morning the other day, and the sunlight was coming in at a low angle. The colors in these shots were the colors I was seeing.

There were a lot of bare branches when we got back from Cebu two months ago, the dark lines of Winter. The green leaves of Spring have taken over, but the cold is still here. It was in the low 40s when I walked this morning, and I'm still wearing my Winter clothes, in May! But the weather report tells us that it could get up into the 80s by this weekend. Yes!
