27Jun2025 - This is turning into a journal/journey-down-memory-lane thing. I'm looking through my old photo albums, and at the same time, other memories and thoughts are popping up in my mind. This is what old(er) people do, yes? 9May2025 - I decided to leave FB, and just share my photos etc here. Thank you to the special people who check in here...(7Dec2022 - crlazlo meanderings 2 is now 2.1 - I will continue to use it as a preview/workspace for my FB posts, but I will also start organizing the many photos from my retirement years, and also start a journal/memories thing. That's the plan anyway.)

I have a list of to-dos for when we go back home next month. One of these to-dos is to go on a photo shoot in south Seattle's "Georgetown". I stopped by the little house in this post (from 9 years ago) many times. I wonder if it's still there.
10Jul2016 - "Disappointment to Satisfaction. I knew I should have stopped at 6:15 this morning when I was driving by some train boxcars along Airport Way. There was some really cool tagger art that I wanted to photograph. They were moved before I rode my bike back down there around 7:30. Oh well. I did get in a nice 12 mile bike ride around the perimeter of Boeing Field, AND I Re-discovered this little house in Georgetown belonging to a Collector of things. It's a feast for the eyes, and when I go by here every year or two it always surprises me. This time I had my camera, and I took some photos."

"Lakeside de Jardin" Craftsperson #3 - This person is my kind of people...working with one's hands, creating something special...it's like the gardens are his canvas, and he/she's "painting". At the same time, he's creating beautiful places for garden viewers to stop, rest, look around. The round centerpiece here, before it became his workbench space, looks like it must have been wonderful to just look at. I also like the close up shots showing the broken glass, pottery, shells, etc materials used for the mosaics. ps - I also like how, since this is a work area and not a place that most Lakeside Gardens patrons see, the natural foliage has been allowed to poke on through in search of sunlight :)

I am looking forward to walking some familiar trails like this next month, but I like where we are now. These short photo essays that pop up in my Memories feeds, or I come across in my photo albums...they are nice. It's sort of like when I'm editing photos after a walk or excursion - I get to experience them again.

"I Needed to get out and go on a photo walk yesterday morning, so I walked across the street to what I call my Dead End walk. The path goes w/sw along the river and around the bend beyond the Landing Park, where you reach a sign that says "Private Property". A Condo complex resides there. I have a few photos here, some looking through the trees, of the other side of the river. Most people walk through the Landing Park and cross over a new foot and bike bridge at the East end. From there, you can walk the Sammamish River Trail out E/SE towards Woodinville..., or turn Right and follow the trail to where it merges with the Burke-Gilman Trail, etc, etc. One of my favorite bike rides is the B-Gilman down along Lake Washington and UW.
Did you know that New York has more rainfall than Seattle? I will take our months of days like what we have right now. It's an easy trade off for those gray days in Winter. They're not All gray. One of my all time favorite times to walk, and shoot photos, is on a cool, crisp, sunny, Winter morning..."

I decided that I should share some photos of Lakeview's actual gardens. They Are nice! When I was asking the person at the Entry booth about the garden's history, she didn't really know much. She did say that I should climb the steps just around the path corner because it gives you a nice view of the plants and flowers from higher up. And, that I did, up, and back down.
