One of my favorite things as an artist/craftsperson here is the Filipino Jeepney, and I'm sad when I think about how they're slowly disappearing. Their numbers are diminishing due to a combination of environmental issues and Covid (social distancing). The colors, the personal touches, the metalwork, etc, I love it all. Until now, I've been shooting photos of Jeepneys going by when I'm walking, or when I've been riding in other vehicles. Yesterday I got out my Canon and I found a few good vantage points for focusing only on Jeepneys. These shots are a combination of old and new photos.

21Feb2014 - nature, decay, transitions...

There are wires everywhere here. I'll see an image like the church on a hill in the first photo, but the wires don't give me an open shot. I did like the large tree branch in the next two photos. A sense of expedience, or humor? Sometimes, I try working with the wires in a photo's composition.

Candles for the dead, Magellan's Cross and the Santo Niño Basilica of Cebu City... The small monument with Magellan's Cross is closed right now, so people just push their candles in through the metalwork windows. There are many areas in the Basilica itself, and it's courtyards, for lighting candles.

Typhoon Odette damaged a lot of trees, but they're coming back. These are some shots with trees and buildings in the IT Park area...

 

Even when I'm walking in IT Park, the banking and Tech area of Cebu, the colors and lines of tropical foliage is everywhere. Sometimes I just stop, and I look into the plants and leaves closer to the ground...
