I've decided to post to FB, and my Blog here at the same time. FB has been getting most of my attention lately, and I forget about my Meanderings. There are a few Followers of my blog out there who are NOT FB participants. Actually, I don't blame them.

I'm behind in my editing, so I decided to do a combo today. A few photos from our Copper Lake Hike and a few from the Car Show a few weeks back. A little mix n match. Lines, colors and shapes...and a little playing around with Lake "kaleidoscope" reflections. A "ps" for Blog followers, I'll be posting some photos from a back packing trip (my first in 35+ years!) I took the past weekend to the Alpines Wilderness area.

My favorite all time knob was the (manual) choke. I also have fond memories of the "suicide knob" in my 54 Chevy, before they were outlawed...

Disappointment to Satisfaction. I knew I should have stopped at 6:15 this morning when I was driving by some train boxcars along Airport Way. There was some really cool tagger art that I wanted to photograph. They were moved before I rode my bike back down there around 7:30. Oh well. I did get in a nice 12 mile bike ride around the perimeter of Boeing Field, AND I Re-discovered this little house in Georgetown belonging to a Collector of things.

It's a feast for the eyes, and when I go by there every year or two, it always surprises me. This time I had my camera, and I took some photos.

 some old photos from my box-making days in the 70s?

Forgive me my body. It's 7:50am and I'm sitting in a McDonalds, eating an egg McMuffin thing with my coffee. Actually, it's an "Egg White Delight", which is a little better I guess? Some fruit when I get home. Getting up as early as I do sometimes, when I leave for my walk later like I did today, I forget that I had very little to eat. I had 2 slices of toast and a cup of coffee around 4:30 this morning. I'll post my Walk later, which included a 3 mile walk over to the Rainier Beach LRT station on MLK Way, and an LRT ride back to the Tukwila Station close to this McDonalds. Next is a 25 minute walk back down to our house, and then another 10 minute walk to where I parked the car by the Green River.

I made a pit stop at home, and I decided to ride my bike back to the car. This is my version of a Triathlon I guess, a Walk-LRT ride (2 bucks for an "old person" Day Pass)-Walk-Bike Ride.
Life is good.

Broken glass; piles of broken glass along some train tracks in Renton. I have to Google how they use this stuff.

Although I'm excited about getting back into my wood working, I'm also happy that my picture taking has returned. I walked north through Georgetown this morning, over the train tracks along Airport Way, West to 4th Ave and back south over the tracks again and back into GTown. A nice walk, a little over 4 miles.

My walk yesterday morning and my bike ride today were both exercises in nostalgia. Yesterday I walked up "the Ave" (University Avenue) and back down thru the UW campus. Today I rode my bike along the waterfront to Century Link Field, up through Chinatown, back up to Pike Place Market and the Myrtle Edwards Park.

 I didn't take out my camera until I got to 4th and Main near Chinatown where the "Gasperetti's Roma Cafe" once stood. Gasperetti's was owned by my Uncle Bill Gasperetti, and I worked there from age 15 1/2 up to age 19? There's a new building there now, currently under construction. I found this Postcard photo with Google just now. I remember they had them by the Cashier, and I think that's my Uncle Bill and Aunt Marie coming out to their car:

The thing that got me to pull out my camera was this group of new commemorative tiles along the sidewalk:

 Gordon Hirabayashi was a Japanese American Sociologist who at age 24 was imprisoned for disobeying the WWII internment order.

There was this little park in downtown Walla Walla with an old building on a building facade. Wonderful lines, shadows and textures...
