Beautiful day for an early morning bike ride - met up with bro Mike out by H Depot and Costco in Tukwila. We rode along the Green River Trail north to the BECU area near my house, around 5.5 miles. On the return ride, we cut over to the Interurban Trail just south of Ft Dent and 405. Really nice ride, 11+ miles. Hoping to ride with our Bicycle Mentor bro Pat soon...

Even though it's less than a mile from our house to the Green River, I've gotten into the habit of Driving to some of my favorite walk starting points. After the Peacock visit the other day, I decided to walk from our house this morning, sort of hoping to see them. I'll be 72 next month, and I'm determined that I will still be doing these walks 20 years from now. I'm Not going to do what our Mom did and stop walking etc one day. She did that to "punish" Dad because of some silly argument they had. Dumb dumb...
ps - I don't have a Fitbit, or a sports? watch. I'm happy with my legs feeling strong and keeping a good rhythm and balance (and keeping an eye on Neo the cat when I'm moving around in the kitchen. Mom broke her hip for a second time when Barney, her cat, was weaving in and out of her legs...)

I remember quite a few years ago, Nate called down from upstairs -"hey Dad, there's a peacock in the tree!" I thought to myself 'no way", but when I went up and looked through his window, there it was high up in the fir tree, staring back at us.
For a long time, there were two peacocks kept as pets a block or so north of us. When Tukwila banned chickens last year, the peacocks sort of disappeared, until the other morning. I saw one of them out by my car, and when I pulled out my camera, he decided to go back home...

Being a long time Seattleite, I sort of miss the cool gray skies and drizzle, but I have to admit that the sunshine has given me more "keepers" when I'm out shooting photos - a sculpture in Coulon Park at the south end of Lake Washington:
