This photo pretty much captures the mood when we brothers get together to watch UW Football at John's house. JR being all excited and yelling, Mike being Mike :), good food, and Teresa trying to ignore us. Every once in awhile, I would turn my camera and take a shadow picture...

My list of "why I like living in Bothell" is growing. I feel safe again on my early morning walks, not like when I lived in Japan, but better than when I was walking in Tukwila and the South End. I'm still carrying a small pepper spray thing with me out of habit, something I started doing after a scary incident with a homeless guy alongside the Green River Trail last year. This frazzled guy with crazy eyes emerged from the bushes along the river, and when he saw my camera, he threatened to attack me. He said I was taking pictures of him. We "discussed" the situation for what seemed like forever, probably less than 5 minutes, and he had some jerky charge like moves. I started walking again, and he followed me for a bit, and then went on past me. I remember thinking "the only weapon I have is my camera", and "I don't want to break my camera!!"  

These are the only photos I took this morning - the first one was looking out the front windshield of the our car when I dropped off my Better Half at work, and the second one is the sidewalk across the street from where we live. A drizzly NW Fall morning.

Being an early riser, I've always been more of a SunRises person. A few days ago I went up on the Deck to catch a SunSet, and I was rewarded.

I do miss my walks and rides in the South end, but this is nice too: the Burke Gilman Trail...

I went on a short Fall bike ride with Gary Benson this morning, S/SW along the Burke Gilman Trail from Bothell to the Lake Forest Park Town Center. We went into the Honey Bear Bakery there and had some "Meat Cups", sort of a combination chili/soup, with some little round slices of baked bread on the side, only $5.25 each. Yummy, and the perfect break food in the middle of our bike ride. I liked the Bike bike rack...

Unlike Dad, I do NOT have a Green Thumb. I did have a small victory with this sunflower though, from our roof-top Pea Patch. This shot was from sometime in September?

I must have hundreds of "shadow self portrait" shots from my past decade of photo walks. These are a few recent ones from my walk along the Horse Creek here in Bothell. I call these "Who is that guy? Always following me!"

looking back at my Arboretum walk on 27Oct, the early morning sun and cold weather gave us some amazing colors, and the Totem Pole was cool...

I walked down the creek along 98th Ave the other morning, and I ended up taking a gazillion photos. I realized just now that I didn't know it's name. A Search brought up this short video on YouTube:

I love going through my photos in the Fall when I'm editing. So many colors, and more "keepers"! The first one is from last Monday. The castle like silhouette in the foreground is part of a large children's area in St Edward St Pk, "the largest children's playground in the state" according to Wikipedia. We took the twins there yesterday morning.
