9July2026 - FB is pretty much on my rear view mirror now, except for "Following" other photographers and artists/craftspersons. I also check my FB Memories most mornings since I've been so bad at organizing and saving my photos. 27Jun2025 - This is turning into a journal/journey-down-memory-lane thing. I'm looking through my old photo albums, and at the same time, other memories and thoughts are popping up in my mind. This is what old(er) people do, yes? 9May2025 - I decided to leave FB, and just share my photos etc here. Thank you to the special people who check in here...October2025 - I'm back... (7Dec2022 - crlazlo meanderings 2 is now 2.1 - I will continue to use it as a preview/workspace for my FB posts, but I will also start organizing the many photos from my retirement years, and also start a journal/memories thing. That's the plan anyway.)

My sister-in-law has an amazing "green thumb". Her garden is a feast for the eyes, and stomach. When I looked at her photos, I saw the shapes, colors and lines, and I played with some editing...

I was looking at this photo of a bridge near our home in the South end, and I liked the reflections...sort of kaleidoscope-y. Many of these shots were from the Green River in the Tukwila area quite a few years ago:

I was going through some old photo folders yesterday, and I did some re-sorting and editing. These are from our trip to Cebu in 2018...

That time of the year is here, when the leaves are disappearing and we're left with the black lines of bare branches...

These wooden sculptures are on the UW Bothell campus. The solo figure in the photo is about 8 feet tall. The trailer Art is part of Cascadia College, across from the figure sculptures.

"Kanji" post #2: I went out to dinner with friends one night in Japan. Most of the discussion was in English, and at one point, a Japanese person and a Korean person came to an impasse in their discussion. I looked over and they were pointing their forefingers in the air and mimicking the lines of specific Kanji, Chinese characters. And they would go "oh, yes..." in understanding. I imagined seeing the lines they were forming in neon colors. It was beautiful.
I pulled these short videos off of a Kanji practice website.

I've always liked the Chinese character stamps in old Chinese paintings. The flowing brush strokes of calligraphy art also, and the not knowing what Arabic lines mean...I've always just enjoyed the aesthetics of the characters. Reinholz in German means Clean or Pure, and Wood or Forest. I played with the idea of hanko stamps (personal seal stamps in Japan) yesterday, using these characters on one of my photographs...
