I walked down to the new Sto. Nino Chapel and Park yesterday. I thought the 30 ft Sto. Nino figure on top would be the highlight, but I was surprised by the chapel building and architecture. The curves of white painted concrete and the metal screens with their diamond shaped openings were wonderful! The chapel was closed but the screens were like the glass surfaces I like to photograph on downtown buildings. They were like "layers" in your view. You could see through them, or focus in such a way that they merged with the façade... Like!

I like trees. I love coconut trees. Trees with electric lights can be nice too, even when they are not plugged in.

When I was taking those sunset photos in Talisay recently, I aimed my camera East as I was walking back to the park. I noticed these moving dark areas where I thought the breeze was causing water ripples. As I got closer, I realized it was hundreds of little crabs trying to get away from me.

I don't like taking selfies, but I do like taking shadow self portraits like the green leaf I posted yesterday. The bridge, wood and rocks shots were in my FB Memories folder this morning, from a photos post I made 5 yrs ago. In he last photo, I played with the editing of the green leaf shot.

I go through my old photos folders sometimes, and I find shots that I passed on the first look-see. Here are a few I like from our visit to Talisay last month: more foliage, plastic hangers...

Several months after Typhoon Odette... and many reminders of it's aftermath remain. Tourism was just one of the many businesses lost with Covid, and then came Odette. Walking through the cities and towns, you can still see broken windows, hanging wires and debris. This was Nasuluan island, where we stopped first on our island hopping trip. Other than the missing very long dock, you couldn't see the damage until you got a little closer. The small cottages must have been nice. The Cloud photo is for my sister Mary, who, like me, appreciates beautiful clouds.

Water Patterns #1

I remember being in the Boy Scouts, and sitting on bluff overlooking Puget Sound one day. The patterns on the water were mesmerizing, the colors, the undulating waves and the dots of sunlight on the water. Going through my Island Hopping folder just now, I took a slew of these kinds of photos during my breaks from snorkeling. I usually shoot on Auto, and I the only way I play with the aperture is where I choose to focus my lens, and watching how the angle of my shot affects the lighting.

My favorite sculpture/park in Cebu is the "Heritage of Cebu Monument", located in the Parian District in the downtown area. The prominent families in Cebu had their residences in this area during the Spanish period.

There are over 7000 islands in the Philippines...

Two 13/14yo boys hopped on a Jeepney we were riding the other day, and the first one started singing, followed by the other boy in harmony. Beautiful... A few passengers, including Inday, gave them some pesos. In the U.S. we have a saying: "to make a buck". Here, it's to make 50 pesos. Today's US to Peso rate is p52.19.
