I saw Jesse, the Maintenance Guy for our apartment complex, coming around the corner at the far end of the main road. His little golf cart came to a stop, and then it slowly started moving towards me. The man standing under the medium sized tree, looking up into it's branches, was me, with my camera. Jesse did a U Turn, and resumed whatever he was doing...

These shots are from last year's car show here in Bothell. I was focusing on reflections a lot...

There was a short feature on Bothell's 4th of July parade happening tomorrow when I read the paper this morning. You can see below why I don't take videos. Oh well. I filmed it around 6am this morning when I took my morning walk. I'll try to attach it to this post.

Our extended family used to go to Seaside Oregon every year on the weekend thay had their annual car show. Fun times walking along the beach, exploring the small galleries in town, and cheering for the Classic Cars and Hot Rods parade on Sunday. We celebrated our folks 60th Wedding Anniversary there in 2004. I thought about this memory when I walked by all the empty chairs people have lined up along Bothell Way this morning, all ready for our 4th of July parade tomorrow.

Now that the weather is nicer, we've been going to the park with the twins more often.

These two photos of my "boxes" were in my FB Memories this morning. The fat one with marine plywood was around 8"? in diameter. I was on a photo shoot down by the Mukilteo Ferry, and after I returned home, I remembered we left this piece on the rock down at the beach. Yikes! It was still there when I returned. The taller "Walking Box" made out of walnut was around 16-18" tall, and I remember tipping it while sanding and the little "beak" drawer came out and cracked. Two pieces. Again, Yikes! But being a hardwood like walnut, it was a clean break. I applied some good wood glue etc and it was good to go. I also drilled a little hole and put in a small dowel in upper inside cavity, so it wouldn't fall out if you tipped it like that. You could raise the front of the drawer a little if you wanted to remove it.

I like checking out the winnings of golfers in the Sports section after each tournament. Deep pocket sponsors. Today I read that the NBA Raptors' Fred VanVleet, moving to Houston, will make about $525,000 per game over the next three seasons. Not bad. I was debating with myself his morning. Should I buy the larger box of OFC's generic Guatemalan Dark coffee pods for my Keurig :)

Greenwood Car Show 2023 #3

I got out my old Schwinn bicycle the other day and went on my first bicycle ride in over a year. As usual, after a long break from riding, it felt Really good! I rode a meandering 5 miles in the time that One of my morning walks would take, and I covered the distance of three of those routes. Joy...

Greenwood Car Show 2023 #2 What do I like about these Classic Car shows? Number one I guess is Nostalgia. I'm a Boomer baby, the music in "American Graffiti" was our music, and my favorite cars during that time were a 1950 DeSoto and a '54 Chevy. I remember looking at my Chevy one day and thinking "wow, look at all that chrome! It's all mine!" :)

The Greenwood Car Show on Saturday was humongous! I got there at 9am, and there were around a million people there already. I had to park quite far from where the 7 or so city blocks of Classic cars were lined up. I never saw the stoner movie "Dude, Where's My Car?", but those words popped into my head when I returned to my car. It was a very meandering search. I could probably apply for a Cartographer whatever job in the Greenwood/Phinney Ridge area now :) ps - I took over 200 photos in, around and between other car show viewers... The steering wheel knobs "have also been called 'suicide knobs'. This negative connotation caused people to assume they were illegal. In fact, steering wheel knobs are sometimes prescribed to people with applicable disabilities to assist them in driving." I loved the suicide knob in my DeSotos and the 54 Chevy.

A few more bros walk shots from the other day. I’m not much of a people picture taker, so it was fun having these sort-of-willing subjects. John was explaining "here’s what we’re gonna do", and Mike teling them "no, this is what we’re gonna do..." A small group of old Chevy lovers were parked in the small parking lot by Wayne Park. This was a 53 Chevrolet. I had 54 Chevy in high school: white, with red fender strips and baby moon hubcaps. I’m excited because I’m going to the Greenwood car show tomorrow morning.
