9July2026 - FB is pretty much on my rear view mirror now, except for "Following" other photographers and artists/craftspersons. I also check my FB Memories most mornings since I've been so bad at organizing and saving my photos. 27Jun2025 - This is turning into a journal/journey-down-memory-lane thing. I'm looking through my old photo albums, and at the same time, other memories and thoughts are popping up in my mind. This is what old(er) people do, yes? 9May2025 - I decided to leave FB, and just share my photos etc here. Thank you to the special people who check in here...October2025 - I'm back... (7Dec2022 - crlazlo meanderings 2 is now 2.1 - I will continue to use it as a preview/workspace for my FB posts, but I will also start organizing the many photos from my retirement years, and also start a journal/memories thing. That's the plan anyway.)

I agree with the Hillary's Deplorables comment. I have personal experience with how a few former friends have used the Donald as an excuse to express there own racist and sexist inclinations. Sad. From an editorial by Syndicated columnist Dick Meyer in this morning's Times:
"Like no other presidential candidate, Trump has poured gasoline on the fears of many Americans — fears about terrorism, immigrants, the changing look of America, crime, globalization and making ends meet.
At a much more fragile moment, after 9/11, Americans broadly, if imperfectly, resisted these kinds of fears and thoroughly rejected the dark populist fear-mongering that is Trump’s specialty.
There could be no more fitting and noble commemoration of the 15th anniversary of 9/11 than for Americans to reject Donald Trump — decisively and proudly."
These are a few shots from my photowalk yesterday morning. The past five months have been a blur, and most of the photos I've been posting lately have been pulled from my April-July folders:

This is under I-5 where it crosses over the Green River just north of Southcenter. If you look up at the screened off area between the North and South lanes, there's an interesting collection of car parts and stuff...

I Unfriended an acquaintance of mine on FB this morning. I very seldom do that. I usually just Unfollow a person. We recently made contact after many years. It's sad, and disturbing, how the Donald is appealing to the basest instincts in many of his followers...
A walk in Fremont is always good for photos. More from my walk in early July...

"disappointed in Hillary, and disgusted with Trump":
I was listening to an interview on NPR this morning with Tyler Fournier, a columnist for The Atlantic and National Journal who wrote the book "Love That Boy." His son has Asperger's, and most of the interview had to do with loving his son because of his idiosyncrasies. "What makes him different, what makes all of our kids different, is what makes them special."
What made me want to post something was the Hillary-Trump quote - it expresses what I'm feeling right now when I think about this election cycle. With all of the baggage Clinton is bringing in, we are allowing a clown like Trump to be on the doorstep of the White House. Sad...
I was editing photos just now, and I looked over at a resin sculpture I made back in the 70s. It's one of my "Gift of Surrender" things, and I came across it yesterday, during my latest "Purge"...

Yeah! I'm still behind in my photo editing, but with these shots, I've begun sorting through 'July 2016'. These are a few from a nostalgic walk I took through the U District on July 2nd.

a FB "share your memories" thing that popped up on my page just now, from a bike ride with Pat in Fremont a few years ago...
