9July2026 - FB is pretty much on my rear view mirror now, except for "Following" other photographers and artists/craftspersons. I also check my FB Memories most mornings since I've been so bad at organizing and saving my photos. 27Jun2025 - This is turning into a journal/journey-down-memory-lane thing. I'm looking through my old photo albums, and at the same time, other memories and thoughts are popping up in my mind. This is what old(er) people do, yes? 9May2025 - I decided to leave FB, and just share my photos etc here. Thank you to the special people who check in here...October2025 - I'm back... (7Dec2022 - crlazlo meanderings 2 is now 2.1 - I will continue to use it as a preview/workspace for my FB posts, but I will also start organizing the many photos from my retirement years, and also start a journal/memories thing. That's the plan anyway.)

I Unfriended an acquaintance of mine on FB this morning. I very seldom do that. I usually just Unfollow a person. We recently made contact after many years. It's sad, and disturbing, how the Donald is appealing to the basest instincts in many of his followers...
A walk in Fremont is always good for photos. More from my walk in early July...

"disappointed in Hillary, and disgusted with Trump":
I was listening to an interview on NPR this morning with Tyler Fournier, a columnist for The Atlantic and National Journal who wrote the book "Love That Boy." His son has Asperger's, and most of the interview had to do with loving his son because of his idiosyncrasies. "What makes him different, what makes all of our kids different, is what makes them special."
What made me want to post something was the Hillary-Trump quote - it expresses what I'm feeling right now when I think about this election cycle. With all of the baggage Clinton is bringing in, we are allowing a clown like Trump to be on the doorstep of the White House. Sad...
I was editing photos just now, and I looked over at a resin sculpture I made back in the 70s. It's one of my "Gift of Surrender" things, and I came across it yesterday, during my latest "Purge"...

Yeah! I'm still behind in my photo editing, but with these shots, I've begun sorting through 'July 2016'. These are a few from a nostalgic walk I took through the U District on July 2nd.

a FB "share your memories" thing that popped up on my page just now, from a bike ride with Pat in Fremont a few years ago...

On the Whitman College Campus in Walla Walla, Washington:
"Carnival, 1997, Jim Dine. An internationally known artist with roots in the Pop Art of the 1960s, Dine used a chain saw to form Carnival from a single tree, then cast it in bronze at the Walla Walla Foundry."

I really liked the metallic echo sound when I knocked on it...

Trees are alive, and this old tree is my favorite! He's located just behind the Seattle Sounders practice facilities here in Tukwila.

These photos are from a post I made in April of 2015. I didn't take photos today when I walked along the Green River. There's a pair of Osprey (Fish Hawks) that nest across the river from BECU every year, and this year they had three babies. The youngsters are now flexing their wings and flying out from the nest in these wide loops over the river. Very cool...

It's blackberry-picking time again!
Made me think of Richard Brautigan's "Blackberry Motorist":

Just like my annual routine of watching "The Seven Samurai", sort of anyway, every once in awhile I need to read Richard Brautigan. This is a found poem in a book by Richard Brautigan:

"By accident, you put
Your money in my
Machine (#4)
By accident, I put
My money in another
Machine (#6)
On purpose, I put
Your clothes in the
Empty machine full
Of water and no
Clothes

It was lonely.
