I like exploring little neighborhood parks. This one isn't far from our place, and as per my regular routine, I wandered off into the brush and looked up into the trees...

This softer wood, from a Pine or Fir? scrap I had, reminded me how much I like the smells of different woods. The smell of cut and sanded walnut is very different from Birch, etc. I purposely left the lid cut roughed out, and I rubbed a little oil in with the box closed. A simple Wood box. Just a nice feel holding it my hand. 2+x4+x1"

I was perusing McMenamins' Webpage after my walk through their gardens the other day, and their "Art" page makes want to stay in the hotel. "Anderson School has all kinds of faces peering at visitors, all steeped in history.  Local artists created much of the one-of-a-kind artwork based on historical photos, interviews and articles from the school, alumni, Bothell Historical Society and local families and colorful residents."

It's nice to have this walk right across the street, even with gray skies. You can see our building peeking through the green foliage in the upper right of the bridge photo. The green colors have returned.

I decided to go walk through the gardens at McMenamins yesterday, two blocks from our place in Bothell. Some flower and plant shots were my goal. When I clicked on their website just now, I found some wonderful artwork by local artists in their hotel and restaurants:

the blue skies of Cebu...

I played with the window reflection images from my post yesterday, and I like how the B&W images remind me of printmaking? Super busy, but a feeling of the different layers.

Walnut, about 5.25 inches long (13.3 cm). Photos with cell phone. It just feels good working with my hands again. Different from taking photos and editing, but it's the same kind of energy, pleasure...

I like taking window reflection (and through) shots, because there's so much going on. These are from our Bothell Historical Museum. You have the glass layer of the windows, the reflections, the items inside and even some windows on the other side where there are more things in the distance.

Green foliage photos are fun to play with in B&W. The first two photos were taken 2 yrs ago today, on 19May2019 when we were in the Philippines. The last 3 shots are from my walk last Saturday.

I decided to limit my FB page's focus to Photography, Arts and Crafts. The Violinist video was from a recent walk, and the small boxes are a return to working with my hands. I gave up most of my woodworking tools when we moved to an apartment, and my tools now are a small Japanese Pull Saw, wood glue, rubber bands for clamping, XActo knives, sand paper and Linseed oil.
